Frequently asked questions about HEJ Athletic Football Club.
HEJ Athletic is an FA-affiliated grassroots football club, formed in Milton Keynes in 2018 and run by parent volunteers.
HEJ Athletic Football Club recognises that children play football for different reasons. The club is, and always has been, inclusive for boys and girls, and wants all its current and future members to enjoy playing football, have fun, and learn and develop their skills in a safe, well-managed environment – with training twice a week for an affordable membership fee.
For most of the year we train on the grass at Giffard Park Primary School, Broadway Avenue, Giffard Park, Milton Keynes MK14 5PY. Over the winter we move U7s to U12s training onto artificial pitches to protect the grass at Giffard Park.
Our winter training timetable (until March 2027) for U7s to U12s is:
Mini Kickers train on Sundays, 9:00am – 10:00am, at Giffard Park School.
Every child who attends HEJ training needs to wear age-appropriate shin pads and suitable footwear for the playing surface (football boots or trainers), and bring a drink.
U7s to U12s play Saturday league games.
For U7s to U12s, a match kit is included in the £200 annual membership. Mini Kickers don’t need to buy a kit.
U7s to U12s play league games on Saturday mornings, usually between 9:00am and 12:00pm. All home games are played at Giffard Park Primary School, Broadway Avenue, Giffard Park, Milton Keynes MK14 5PY. Coaches and managers will send game details before each match.
Annual membership is £200 for U7s to U12s (including match kit) and £150 for Mini Kickers. We ask parents to pay on 1 July each year. If anyone needs financial help, please contact the club treasurer.
U7s to U12s membership includes:
Yes. HEJ Athletic is an inclusive football club and boys and girls are welcome – some of our teams have mixed squads of boys and girls.
Every player who joins HEJ Athletic Football Club needs to be registered by their parent on the FA’s online Whole Game System. Parents create an online FAN profile for themselves and their child, so personal details are stored securely, and will then be assigned to HEJ Athletic.
Once a player is registered, their parents will be added to the HEJ club and team WhatsApp groups or the Spond app.
We want every player at HEJ Athletic to enjoy themselves and we will not tolerate any verbal abuse from parents or players. Alcohol is not permitted under any circumstances and there is a no-smoking policy at all our venues. Dogs are not allowed on school grounds unless risk assessed and agreed in advance by the club committee and the school. See our full Club Rules.
Each year HEJ Athletic holds a summer presentation in July and a Christmas party in December, both included in the membership price.
HEJ Athletic Football Club takes a break during school half-terms and there is no football on bank holidays. The club finishes for 3–4 weeks in the summer holidays at the beginning of August each year after the tournament season ends. Pre-season training resumes at the beginning of September.
